City Club of Boise tour of the Stibnite Gold Project on Saturday, September 29, 2018 has been postponed -notably in the spring or early summer of 2019.
In the meantime, please keep a lookout in our newsletter and our website for an announcement regarding a small discussion group, at a later date, highlighting conservation vs development around Midas Gold,s Stibnite project
On the tour, we’ll visit the historic Stibnite Mining District and discuss its role in one of Idaho’s most important industries. We’ll see the former Stibnite town site and observe legacy features of the Stibnite Mine that are still visible today including the Yellow Pine Pit, the former Meadow Creek Mine and mill site, and associated tailings and heap leach facilities. At each of these stops, you will hear the history of the site and see the legacies that have been left behind. Representatives of Midas Gold will be on hand to answer any questions you may have regarding the proposed Stibnite Gold Project.
Details: The tour will depart at 8am from the Ashley Inn in Cascade. Midas Gold will provide transportation to the Stibnite site and back to the hotel. We will drive Warm Lake Road-Johnson Creek Road to Yellow Pine for lunch at The Corner Restaurant. The tour will take approximately 1 ½ to 2 hours. Scheduled return to the Ashley Inn is approximately 4:30 pm.
