Tour Micron
Join your fellow City Club Members and Gordon Haller for a special tour at Micron. Gordon is a Senior Manager in the NAND-Process Integration group. He is also Micron's longest continuous serving employee. He joined Micron in the summer of 1981 and has continued with them for nearly 37 years. He knows the history of Micron because he's lived it.
Micron's Boise operations include corporate headquarters, premiere research and development facilities, and the company's first semiconductor manufacturing facility. Beginning as a four-man semiconductor design company in 1978, Micron is now an international, multibillion dollar operation.
City Club of Boise's tour will look at the fabrication area for Micron's Research and Development group. We will also visit an exhibit of Micron's patents and the individuals at Micron responsible for those patents.
Out tour guide, Mr. Haller, has held many positions over his Micron career and has his name on a number of important process patents in both DRAM and NAND.
Following the brief tour we will retire to a conference room for a presentation by Gordon about Micron's four decades in Boise. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss this history with Mr. Haller.
Gordon normally does not lead tours and is doing this as a special treat for City Club. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity.
When: Thursday, March 15th 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Where: 8000 South Federal Way
Cost: $15 for City Club members, $20 for non-members and guests
Water will be provided.
Pre-registration is requested, by 5 PM on Thursday, March 8th. This event is limited to 25 attendees. As a City Club of Boise Member-Only Tour, Members are allowed to bring one guest, space permitting.
Parking is readily available on the lot directly in front on the main entrance. All participants should wear comfortable closed toed shoes (no heels) and long pants!
